In the days ahead of the G20 Summit in Cannes, young entrepreneurs from around the world gathered to discuss their role as “builders of the 21st Century” during the G20 Young Entrepreneur Summit (G20 YES) in Nice, France.  Among the more than 400 entrepreneurs representing the world’s 20 leading economies are 20 young Russian business leaders who will take part in discussions and learn from peers around the globe regarding how to continue modernizing the Russian economy through entrepreneurship.

This year’s event marks the third edition of the G20 YES organized by the G20 Young Entrepreneurs’ Alliance, a global collective of organizations who specifically promote young entrepreneurs.  The G20 YES will focus on how entrepreneurship can help end the global recession while promoting job creation and sustainable economic growth.  At the conclusion of the G20 YES, recommendations on how global leaders can create a thriving environment for entrepreneurship – including changes to regulation, taxation and financing – will be delivered to the G20 Heads of State at their summit in Cannes.

Members of the Russian delegation to the G20 YES were recruited by The U.S. Russia Center for Entrepreneurship, which represents Russia in the G20 Young Entrepreneurs’ Alliance.  The Russian attendees, ranging from 18 to 45 years old, represent companies in various stages of development and a diverse set of industries – from financial services to biotechnology to information systems.

“Young Russian entrepreneurs are excited to participate in the G20 YES.  They are eager to share their experiences in growing businesses in Russia’s emerging economy, to learn from their peers representing the other G20 countries, and to contribute to developing recommendations to the G20 leaders that will influence policy initiatives to promote youth entrepreneurship globally,” said Victor Sedov, president of The U.S. Russia Center for Entrepreneurship and a Modern Russia contributor.

Modern Russia will speak to members of the Russian delegation to the G20 YES to learn more about their companies and what their role is in modernizing the Russian economy.  Stay tuned to the site to see these interviews and learn more about Russian entrepreneurship from these young business leaders.
